Mount Carmel – Albert E. Kieski, 75, of 229 W. 5 ^th St., passed away March 29, 2022 at Orwigsburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Shamokin State Hospital on December 4, 1946, the son of the late Whitney and Mildred Joan (Gebauer) Kieski.

Al was a lifelong resident of Mount Carmel. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1964, in 1968 he graduated from Bloomsburg State Teacher's College, and earned his Master's Degree in 1970 from Bloomsburg State Teacher's College. He was employed as a Social Studies teacher at Mount Carmel Junior and Senior High School for 30 years until his retirement in May of 1999.

He was lifelong member of the former Our Mother of Consolation Church, now known as Divine Redeemer Church. Al was the former president of the Lithuanian Social Club of Mt. Carmel, Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus of Mt. Carmel, member of the Sons of Poland of Mt. Carmel, and the West End Athletic Club of Mt. Carmel. He enjoyed shopping and watching football and Jeopardy on TV.

Al is survived by his brother, Edward Kieski of Pottsville; sister-in-law, Alexis Kieski; nephew, Matthew Kieski and wife, Dara of Paxinos; niece, Meghan Ahlgren and husband, Rikard of Sweden; great niece, Marisa; great nephew, Matthew; as well as numerous cousins.

Albert E. Kieski, 75, of 229 W. 5 ^th St., Mt. Carmel – Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Father Ryan Fischer officiating in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 W. Ave., Mt. Carmel. Burial will follow in Our Mother of Consolation Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Viewing will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022 from 6 – 8 p.m. and Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. with transferal prayers at 10 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N.
