Mt. Carmel – Alex P. Hutko Jr., 61, of 301 Poplar St., passed away January 2, 2021 at Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

He was born in Shamokin on January 7, 1959, the son of Alex P. and Doris (Raker) Hutko Sr.

Alex was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School.

On October 13, 2012, he married Diane Hicks, who survives.

Alex is survived by his wife, Diane Hutko; six sons, Scott Hutko and wife, Christine, Jesse Hutko and wife, Bobbie Jo, Eric Halcovich, Rick E. Hicks, Jeff Hicks, and Brian Hicks; three daughters, Lisa Dillow, Shannon Hicks, and Tasha Fuchs and husband, Joseph; twelve grandchildren; two sisters, Susan Koronkiewicz and husband, James and Anna Hutko; two brothers, Robert Hutko and Shawn Hutko; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Hutko; and a sister, Shirley Kramer and husband, Richard.
