Alma Marie (Diminick) Mannello, 91, of Kulpmont, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 at her residence with family by her side.

She was born in Kulpmont on Sunday, August 2, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Paskevich) Diminick.

Alma attended Wilson Grade School when it first opened its doors for learning. She was a graduate of Kulpmont High School, class of 1949. She worked in several sewing factories and also as a cook at Kulpmont Elementary School.

On November 26, 1951, she married Charles F. Mannello in St. Mary's Church, Kulpmont by Msgr. J. C. Petrovitis. Together they shared 66 years of marriage.

Alma was a member of Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. She loved working in her yard, weed whacking, edging, pulling weeds, and cleaning the snow. She never sat. She loved spending time with her family, cooking many special dishes especially for Christmas Eve and Christmas. It was never too much work for her to do for her family. She also attended all of her grandchildren's sporting events. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was greatly loved and will be sadly missed.

Alma was a coordinator for the Kulpmont Alumni Association from 1934 – 1964. It was a big success and continued till 2015. For her it was truly a labor of love and she enjoyed hearing from alumni who lived far away.

Alma is survived by her son, Charles J. Mannello and wife, Susan of Kulpmont; daughter, Cynthia Lapotsky and husband, Steven of Kulpmont; three grandsons, Scott Altemose and wife, Katy of Chicago, Jared Mannello and wife, Angela of NJ, and Derek Lapotsky and wife, Britta of Danville; a granddaughter, Lindsey Rockwell and husband, Derek Paul of Catawissa; three great grandsons, Jack Altemose, Luke Altemose and Jonah Mannello; six great granddaughters, Emma Altemose, Mia Mannello, Lyla Mannello, Brynna Mannello, Kylah Rockwell, and Kinley Rockwell; a brother-in-law, Edward Mannello and wife, Jean of Reading; two sisters-in-law, Ann Louise Diminick of Lemoyne and JoAnn Alexander of MD; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Alma was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Diminick (infant) and Joseph "Jazz" Diminick; an infant sister; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles Mannello and wife, Pauline; two brothers-in-law, Dominic Mannello and George Alexander; and a sister-in-law, Mary Mannello.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 12 p.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer as celebrant in the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. Viewing will be held in the Church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont PA 17834 or the VNA Health System at 21 W. Independence St., Shamokin, PA 17872.
