Angeline Balonis, 91, of Kulpmont, passed away on January 15, 2024, at the Emmanuel Center for Nursing in Danville.

She was born in Shamokin on May 16, 1932, to the late Joseph and Angeline (Grudjinski) Pahucki.

Angeline married Charles Raymond Balonis, who passed in December of 1971. She was a lifetime member of the Church of the Holy Angels, formerly St. Mary's Church. Angeline graduated from Coal Township High School.

She worked for the textile mills in Kulpmont, as well as the St. Mary's cafeteria, and was a bookkeeper for the Holy Angels Church.

Angie belonged to and supported many organizations, including the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America. She was a member of the Kulpmont Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 231. Angie was the president of the Catholic Daughters of America and belonged to the Holy Angels Ladies Guild (HALO). She volunteered within every aspect of the Holy Angels organizations.

Angie received an award for her long-time service to her Catholic faith. Pope John Paul II imparted his Apostolic Blessing as a pledge of divine graces. She was an extraordinary minister with Holy Angels.

Angie was a gentle mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, wife, and daughter; maybe even the greatest great-grandmother. She had an amazing heart and could light up a room with her beautiful smile. She was a soft and kind soul.

Angie was a perfectionist when it came to baking, and loved cooking for everyone. Holidays at her house were a lifetime of memories. Volunteering at the parish picnics and fund drives were just a few of the things she had done for others with a heart full of love. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, always sharing stories and putting the puzzle pieces in place with laughter and a contagious smile. She loved baking cookies, and all kinds of goodies including her famous chocolate chip cookies, apple pie, or homemade lollipops. Those are just a few of her extraordinary gifts she shared openly and freely with everyone.

Her teachings of the importance of family bonds, and her guidance and values are the cornerstone of her incredible, sincere interest for you. She will live on with all of us.

Angie is survived by three sons, Ray and companion, Bev of Virginia Beach, VA, Leon and wife, Nancy of Coal Twp., and Robert and wife, Rena of Kulpmont; two daughters, Christine Fornof and husband, Jay of Danville and Juanita Heeter and husband, Dwayne of Bloomsburg; nine grandchildren, Angie, Amber, Jason, Sacha, Jonathan, Colby, Tyra, Austin, and Sierra; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bernard Pahucki and wife, Barbara of Coal Twp; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Jacqueline Peek, and a great-grandson, Ross Seely.

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. Viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass in the Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St, Kulpmont, PA 17834. Arrangements are in care of C. J.
