Mount Carmel – Angeline R. (Mirarchi) Gaffney, 88, of Mount Carmel, passed away on October 27, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born in Mount Carmel on March 3, 1936, to Ralph and Mary (Bressi) Mirarchi.

Angeline was a graduate of Mount Carmel Joint Senior High School. She was a lifelong resident of Mount Carmel.

On April 7, 1956, she married the late Francis Patrick "Buck" Gaffney, who preceded her in death on March 26, 2017.

Angeline was a former co-owner of Hollywood Pizza, alongside her husband. She also worked at Academy Sports Center, Turkey Hill Mini Mart, and a garment factory. She enjoyed rocking babies at Winnie the Pooh Daycare.

Angeline was a member of Divine Redeemer Church in Mt. Carmel. She enjoyed trips to the casino and loved watching horse racing and NFL football, especially the Kansas City Chiefs.

Angeline is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Steven) Latorre of Danville; three grandchildren, Michael (Amber) Latorre, Justin (Peyton) Latorre, and Mary Rose (Bailey) Kester; four great-grandchildren, Carson, Kyle, Colton, and Cecelia Ann; and a sister, Eleanor Barni of Dillsburg; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Angeline was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Ann Latorre; a brother, Joseph "Gong" (Adele) Mirarchi; and six sisters, Gina (Carmen) Barilla, Rose (Joseph) Palovick, Carrie (Frank "Rocky") Barella, Lucy (Howard) Smith, Catherine (Paul) Saukaitis, and Estelle (Robert) Veach; and a brother-in-law, Jack Barni.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Father Bernard Wamayose, A.J. officiating in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 W. Ave., Mt. Carmel. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. with transferal prayers at 10 a.m. in the C J Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N.
