Angeline (Poponiak) Malacavage, 86, of Paxinos, passed away on September 6, 2025, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.

She was born in Ashland on February 23, 1939, the daughter of John and Julia (Wilhowy) Poponiak.  Angeline grew up in Marion Heights.

Angeline attended the Ukrainian grade school in Marion Heights and was a graduate of Kulpmont High School, class of 1956.  She was the executive vice president of an electrical contracting company in Alexandria, Virginia.

She married Joseph Malacavage, who survives.  They have been together as a couple since the 1960s.

Angeline was a member of the Patronage of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church, Marion Heights.

Angeline is survived by her husband, Joseph Malacavage; a granddaughter, Angela Kelly and husband Segundo, and their four children, Suannabelle, Lucas, Remington, and Roman; a grandson, Jonathan Kelly and Erin, and their daughter, Autumn; a sister, Claudia (Poponiak) Jones and husband, Rick, and their two children, Christopher (Carol) Jones, and their two children, Thiago and Mia, and Patrick (Erin) Jones and their two children, Mason and Beckham; a niece, Darlene (Poponiak) Straub and her companion, Dan Horengic, and her two sons, Dave and Steve; and two nephews, Mark Poponiak and his two children, Mark Jr. and Julie and John Poponiak; as well as numerous cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kenneth Malacavage, USMC; a daughter, Susan Kelly; and her brother, John Poponiak.

She loved tending to her flowers and garden.  Angeline will be missed by all who knew her.

Divine Liturgy will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Volodymyr Prokipchuk officiating in the Patronage of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church, 145 Melrose Street, Marion Heights, PA 17832. Burial will follow in the Patronage of the Mother of God Ukrainian Cemetery, Marion Heights.
