Coal Township - Ann Evelyn Zimmerman, 76, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 with her family at her side.

Born in Shamokin on January 28, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Pauline (Kanicki) Bendas. She was a lifelong resident of Coal Township, graduating from Coal Township High School in 1960.

On September 13, 1988 in New York, New York, she married the late Daniel Zimmerman. She was a member of Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church. Ann enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, baking (especially her Pitzelles), and spending time with her family, who she loved dear.

Ann is survived by a daughter, Pauline K. Bankes and her husband David Luberacki of Barnesville; a son, John "Jack" Zimmerman and his wife Melissa of Cory; a daughter-in-law, Lori Sinopoli of Shamokin; three grandsons, Harley Zimmerman, Nicholas Zimmerman, and Samuel J. Sinopoli III; seven granddaughters, Kristina Lavin and her husband Eric, Samantha Young, Tabitha Mays, Lydia Luberacki, Samara Sinopoli, Deana Vettenburg and Jay Vettenburg; two great-grandsons, Chase Lavin, and Austin Lavin; five great-granddaughters, Briann Lavin, Nevaeh Zulkowski, Faith Young, Kelly Benjamin, and Deserea Benjamin; one great-granddaughter on the way, Ariel Rose Luberacki; two brothers, Robert "Butch" Bendas and his wife Dolly of Shamokin and Steven Bendas of Brady; a sister Pauline "Tina" Bendas of Shamokin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with her husband, Ann was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Samuel Joseph Sinopoli Jr.

Ann Evelyn Zimmerman, 76, of Coal Township - Divine Liturgy will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 12:00 pm in Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, 303 North Shamokin Street, Shamokin with Father Mykola Ivanov, officiating. Burial will be in Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Shamokin. Viewing will be held Wednesday morning from 10:00 - 11:45 am with Panahyda at 11:00 am, in the C.J.
