Anna Marie (Mitchell) Mazak, 80, of 614 N. Shamokin St., Apt 305, Shamokin, passed away on July 11, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 20, 1943, the daughter of the late John and Julia (Basalay) Mitchell.

Anna Marie was a graduate of Piscataway High School in New Jersey, class of 1961. She lived in Summerdale, NJ and moved to the Shamokin area in 1987. She was employed as a sweeper salesperson for Rainbow Corp.

Anna Marie was a member of Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin. She was a member of the St. Francis Home Association, Shamokin. Anna Marie contributed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Shriner's Hospital for Children, and the Paralyzed Veterans of America. She was very patriotic.

Anna Marie loved her children unconditionally and always went out of her way for them. Her children could never do wrong and she helped them through school, the military, and hard times. Anna Marie would be there for anyone that she had befriended, including for many years her dear friend, Miss Kim Mull. Anna Marie never asked for much in return except for the love and respect of her family, which was returned to her graciously by all. Unfortunately, after a long hard fight, Anna Marie finally received the angel wings she had deserved for so long. She will be greatly missed and remembered. "Always"!

Anna Marie is survived by two daughters, Julieann Mazak-Blomberg and husband, Victor of TX and Kimberly Mazak and wife, Julie of GA; a son, Jonathan Mazak and wife, Meagan of Lancaster; a sister, Christine Fosbre of NJ; a friend, Kim Mull of Catawissa; four grandchildren, Jayden Mazak of Shamokin, John Mazak of TX, Landon Mazak of Shamokin, and Kaleb Mazak of GA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Friar James Fukes, OFM Conv. officiating in Mother Cabrini Church, 214 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
