Antoinette M. (Goretski) Shedleski, 75, formerly a resident of Hickory St., Mount Carmel, passed away on November 8, 2024, at Mt. Carmel Senior Living Community where she resided for the past year.

Antoinette was born on October 29, 1949, in Danville, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Helen Ann (Walczak) Goretski. She was the eldest of five children and remained very close with her siblings until her passing. She was a 1967 graduate of Mount Carmel High School and developed a successful and well-respected career in food services. She worked for several years at the former Mountain View Manor in Trevorton and eventually retired from the State Correctional Institution in Coal Township, after advancing to the highest Food Service Manager position.

Antoinette was an exemplary mother figure and human being. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that was evident in her care for her family and friends. A devoted mother of two and grandmother of six, Antoinette's greatest joy came from being a "Mam-Mam." She delighted in spoiling her "brats" and went to great lengths to attend their sporting events and activities, often managing several in a single day. She loved preparing magnificent meals, baking extra sweet desserts, and nurturing her family. Her time with her two brothers and two sisters was filled with cherished memories, often reminiscing about their childhood pets and laughing about trips to the family "Camp."

Antoinette was a free spirit, remarkably creative and intelligent. She was an avid reader, finishing thousands of books in her lifetime, with a particular love for Stephen King novels. Her musical tastes spanned genres, and she relished the memories of traveling to rock concerts with her friends, sometimes with backstage passes. Deeply committed to her faith and church, St. Peter and Paul in Mount Carmel, Antoinette was well-known for volunteering her time to activities such as making pierogies and halupki or helping at silent auctions. Despite her own medical setbacks, she always found the strength and courage to give back and help those in need. Antoinette's love, kindness, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering dedication to her family and community, and she will be deeply and forever missed.

Antoinette is survived by two sons, Brian Shedleski and wife, Carisa of Kulpmont and Kenneth Shedleski; grandchildren, Lauren, Leah, Andrew, Nicholas, Derek, and Addyson; two brothers, David Goretski and wife, Jill and Nicholas Goretski and wife, Cindy; two sisters, Mary Zellner and husband, James and Debra Tomedi and husband, James. Antoinette was preceded in death by her parents and former husband, Alexander Shedleski.

Funeral service will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 131 N.
