Barbara A. (Saweikis) Deromedi, 85, of 726 Pine Street, Kulpmont, passed away on October 10, 2023, at her residence.

She was born in Kulpmont on May 20, 1938, the daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (Makowski) Saweikis.

Barbara was a graduate of Kulpmont High School, class of 1956. She was a lifelong resident of Kulpmont. Barbara was employed as a legal assistant for the late Esquire Eugene Mirarchi in Kulpmont for 35 years and later worked as the Director of Consumer Affairs for Northumberland County for 16 years.

On July 19, 1958, she married Anthony B. Deromedi in St. Mary's Church, Kulpmont. Together they shared 65 years of marriage.

Barbara was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels. She enjoyed going to the Casino and scratching rub-off tickets.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Anthony Deromedi of Kulpmont; two daughters, Barbara Birriel and husband, Anthony of Camp Hill and Joleen Deromedi of Kissimmee, FL; two grandchildren, Cassandra Birriel of Harrisburg and Kevin Birriel and wife, Harpreet of Philadelphia; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Saweikis, James Saweikis, and Leo Saweikis.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating at the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. Visitation will be held on Friday in the Church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the Mass.
