Betty Louise (Smith) Leonard, 64, of Kulpmont, passed away unexpectedly at Geisinger-Shamokin Medical Center at 11:05 p.m. on Saturday, July 4th, 2026.

She was born at Shamokin General Hospital on September 26th, 1961, the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Snyder) Smith.

Betty attended Shamokin Area High School and Northumberland County Vo-Tech.  She was employed at Paper Magic until it's closure.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Robert J. Leonard, who she referred to as R.J.; her daughter, Margaret Vercruyssen of Shamokin; a son, Paul Henderson of Sunbury; a step-daughter, Sarah Leonard of SC; two step-sons, Justin and Thomas Leonard of Williamsport; six grandchildren, Brandon Nairns of Mt. Carmel, Tia Bressi of Shamokin, Isabella and Jenna Leonard of Williamsport, Danana Leonard of SC, and Carter Leonard of South Williamsport; as well as five great-grandchildren, Brandon Jr., Kaliairess, Kallie, Eliahza, and Brandie.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Timothy Smith; a sister, Noami Saga; and a grandson, Aiden Leonard.

Funeral service will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
