Mount Carmel – Bonnie (Weinreich) Stanczyk, 67, of 230 E. 6th Street, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Born on January 27, 1956, Bonnie was the daughter of Roy and Thelma (Kirchoff) Weinreich. She graduated from Mount Carmel Area High School in 1973. Bonnie earned her LPN diploma from Geisinger School of Nursing. For over 40 years, Bonnie worked as an LPN at Geisinger. Most of her career was spent in Hematology/Oncology care. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

On September 11, 1976, she married Francis Stanczyk at St. Stanislaus Church, Shamokin, PA. She became a mother to two daughters, Leslie and Larissa. As a mother, she was the one planning every event with love. She was the mother taking pictures and filling photo albums with happy memories for her girls. Bonnie was the mother taking her girls and their friends to Girl Scouts, cheerleading, Knoebel's, and on countless trips. She helped with homework, housework, and life. Her heart was unmatched for sure.

In March 2011, Bonnie found her next greatest calling. She became Bushie to her precious grandson, Cameron. Her enthusiasm and love were poured into him in all he did. Of all the roles she had, this was her true calling. As she found bonus grandsons, she gave her heart to them, as well.

Bonnie was a woman who gave above and beyond to everyone in her life. Neighbors, friends, family…no one was a stranger to her generous soul. She lived to make others know how valued they were. She loved to bake goodies for her grandkids. She loved to put together photo albums, and scrapbooks and acknowledged every special holiday and event for others. She cherished her grand-pets as well and made sure they had goodies and presents too. Many who knew Bonnie would say "She was the most caring person I've ever met" and they were so right. We know she will be rewarded by God eternally.

Bonnie's survivors include her husband, Frank Stanczyk; her daughter, Leslie Stanczyk; her grandson, Cameron Voeckler; her bonus grandsons, Maddox, Alex, Leland, and Evan LaMas; her son-in-law and his partner, Jessie Voeckler and Shauna LaMas; her sisters, Jeanne Weaver, Barbara and David Kranzel, and Linda Koschoff; her sisters-in-law, Marie Deteskey and Tina Johnson Weinreich; and her brother-in-law, Albert Stanchick; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She is now reunited with her precious daughter, Larissa Stanczyk-Voeckler; she also joins her mother, Thelma and father, Roy, and mother-in-law, Anna in Heaven; she is with her brother, Kenneth and sister, Beverly; sisters-in-law, Rose Ann, Roberta, and Flo; her brothers-in-law, Richard, Bob, Ronnie, DeeDee, and Harry; her niece, Cheryl; her nephew, Timothy; and over the rainbow bridge she is back with her beloved grand-pets, especially her two that she cared for after Larissa's passing, Joplin and Cobain. We know they are all together again with God in joy.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 47 S. Market St., Mt. Carmel, PA 17851. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. with transferal prayers at 10 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27. N. Vine St., Mt. Carmel, C. J. Lucas IV, Supervisor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Bonnie, Larissa, Joplin, and Cobain may be made to Mommy and Me Rescue, 610 E. 5th St., Mt. Carmel, PA 17851.
