Carl J. Kutza, 88, of 247 N. Park Street passed away on December 16, 2022 at his residence.

He was born in Shamokin on June 28, 1934, the son of Joseph and Anna (Stanitski) Kutza.

Carl was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School, class of 1952. He worked as an assistant manager for Acme in Mount Carmel until his retirement.

On October 8, 1960, he married the former Lorraine Dallabrida in St. Peter's Church. Together they shared 57 years of marriage.

Carl was a member of Divine Redeemer Church. He loved gardening, visiting the cottage at Knoebel's Grove, and caring for his family. He had a sweet tooth for pastries, cookies, and pies.

Carl is survived by a daughter, Anne; two grandchildren, Lisa Darrup and Carl Darrup; a brother, Tom Kutza of Elysburg; a sister-in-law, Margaret Kutza of Berwick; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Kutza; a son, Carl Kutza; and three brothers, Frank, Joe, and Walter.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Father Francis J. Tamburro as celebrant and Father Bernard Wamayose, AJ as concelebrant in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Avenue, Mount Carmel. Burial will follow in Our Mother of Consolation Cemetery, Mount Carmel Twp. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. with transferal prayers at 10:30 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, Supervisor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Carmel Public Library at 30 S. Oak Street, Mount Carmel, PA 17851.
