Kulpmont – Carol A. Britton, 81, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Mount Carmel Nursing Home.

Born in Ashland on December 16, 1939 and raised in Woodland Heights, she was the daughter of the late Gurney "Gike" and Lillian (Kroh) Buhl. She graduated from Butler Township High School in 1957.

On April 19, 1958 she married William Britton, who survives.

Carol, or "Nana" to some, was unconditionally devoted to her family. She was a skilled bingo player, beloved bread baker and could light up any room with her quick wit. Carol loved to crochet, dance and watch "The Price is Right" with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by a son, Tony Britton of Fountain Springs; a daughter, Sharon Gushen and her husband, Joe of Kulpmont; a granddaughter, Dana Caforio and her husband, Anthony; three grandsons, Joe Gushen, Bryan Gushen and his wife, Mary, and Andrew Gushen; three great granddaughters, Mariah Caforio, Astrid Caforio, and Cassie Gushen; two great grandsons, Luke Gushen, and Nick Gushen; a sister, Marie Cress and her husband, Chuckie of Ashland; a brother, Rick Buhl and his wife, Peggy of McAdoo; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a grandson, Sean Britton; four sisters, Betty Razzis and her husband, Al, Ruthie Deeter and her husband, Johnny, Shirley Buhl, and Charlotte Todd; and two brothers, Ed Buhl and his wife, Deloris, and Charles Buhl (infant).

FUNERAL NOTICE

Carol A. Britton, 81, of Kulpmont – Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 11:00 am with Father Andrew Stahmer, officiating at C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mt. Carmel, PA 17851, C. J. Lucas IV, Supervisor. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fountain Springs. Viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
