Kulpmont - Catherine M. (Venna) Petrovich, 72, of 104 S 10th St., passed away in her home on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

She was born in Shamokin on December 30, 1950, the daughter of Christy "Doc" Venna and Rose Nestico.

Catherine was at one time a resident of Marion Heights. She attended Mt. Carmel High School. She retired from Mountain View Manor in Trevorton, where she worked as an Executive Ward Clerk. She was previously the Head Seamstress in multiple dress factories, as well as a beautician working on private clients.

Catherine was a member of Church of the Holy Angels. She enjoyed going to dinner with her friends, going to the beach, and spending time with her family.

Catherine was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Largely known by many as "Aunt Kathy," she adored her family above all else. She was considered the strong matriarchal figure of the Venna Family, passing down beautiful memories of Italian traditions and recipes that she learned from her mother. Most notable, each year she carried on the tradition of Italian Christmas Eve dinner, "Holy Supper," where she opened up her home to family, friends, and strangers. She was happiest when she was with her children, grandchildren and family, and there will not be a day that goes by that she will be forgotten as the loving and endearingly sassy Mom and Aunt Kathy.

Catherine is survived by two children, daughter Lisa "Petrovich" Stanchick of Danville and son Joseph Petrovich and fiancé, Heather Alexander of Marion Heights; grandchildren, Amanda Stanchick, Lauren Stanchick and partner, Maxton Juckes, Gionni Petrovich, as well as Cole, Ava, and Brandon; three brothers, Angelo Venna and wife, Maryann "Mertz" of Kulpmont, Charlie Venna and wife, Rose Marie of Kulpmont, and Chris Venna and wife, Janice of Mt. Carmel; nieces and nephews, Tag Venna and wife, Angela of Kulpmont, Maryann Rimokaitis and husband, John of Kulpmont, Christina Waugh and husband, Rich of Mt. Carmel, Stosh Pultynovich and wife, Steph of Den Mar Gardens, Melissa Williams and husband, Jack of Mt. Carmel, Chris Venna, and Michael Venna of Mt. Carmel, as well as many great nieces and nephews and friends.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents and her sister and brother-in-law Christine "Venna" Pultynovich and Stosh Pultynovich.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1 p.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m - 12:30 p.m. at the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home, 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont PA, 17834. After the Funeral Mass on Saturday, the family invites everyone to The Hideaway Catering Hall in Kulpmont for a luncheon. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery in Kulpmont at a later date.
