Charles S. Billet, 83, went to be with the Lord on August 18, 2026.

Charles was born in Danville on October 21, 1942, to Mary (Bolick) Billet and Charles A. Billet.

Charles graduated from Ashland High School and continued his education, earning an Associate's Degree in Business from the Pennsylvania State University–Schuylkill campus, a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Bloomsburg University, and a Master of Public Health in Health Care Administration from Marywood University.

Following high school, Charles entered the United States Army and served in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, he began his career as an insurance agent. He later became a fifth-grade teacher at Holy Spirit School in Mount Carmel. His next career move brought him to Geisinger Medical Center, where he worked as a psychiatric aide in the newly opened inpatient mental health unit. He went on to serve as a group therapist in the Partial Hospitalization Program before becoming Program Director for Options, a psychiatric partial hospitalization program operated by Community Service Group in Sunbury. After three attempts, Charles finally managed to retire from the position that was far more than a job. It was a career in which he made a lasting and positive impact on both the clients he served and the staff he lovingly mentored.

On October 20, 1987, he married the former, Holly J. Cummings in Danville, who survives.

Charles was deeply involved in his faith community at St. Joseph Church, Danville. He established a Catholic Men's Group and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also helped his wife facilitate Bible studies. Charles served on the RCIA team, was a greeter and an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, and, most importantly to him, taught Religious Education for a year.

For more than 20 years, Charles and his wife attended summer conferences at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. For ten years, they also attended "The Unity Conference" near King of Prussia. Both experiences played an important role in their faith formation.

Always encouraging others to grow in their faith, Charles fondly dubbed a few of their vans "The God Mobile." He used them to take family and friends on pilgrimages and faith filled adventures to Washington, D.C., including the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and the "Holy Land of America"; the National Centre for Padre Pio; the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa; and St. Vincent Archabbey Basilica, to name a few.

The ultimate journey was a pilgrimage to Rome and the Holy Land in Israel, which Charles and Holly made in 2000, a year they both had said they were NOT going to travel.

May you always have fond memories of Charles, especially hearing him say, "Have a Holy Day and have some Holy Fun!"

Charles is survived by his wife, Holly J. Billet of Danville; his twin children, Aaron of Enola and Audra of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sisters, Rose Polifka of Wilburton and Lorraine Klimowicz of Wilburton and West Suffield, CT; and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 26th at 11 a.m. with Father Timothy Marcoe officiating in St. Joseph's Church, Danville. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass in the Church.
