Charles J. Savitski, 49, of 636 Scott St., Kulpmont, passed away suddenly on March 25, 2024, at 9:58 p.m. at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville where he was for the last seven days.

He was born in Ashland State Hospital on November 24, 1974, the son of Charles J. Kaminsky and the late Martha A. (Umlauf) Savitski.

Charles was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Mount Carmel High School, class of 1992. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Fox Coal Company. He traveled all over Pennsylvania working for R & S Services, a rock-crushing and screen plant. He drove uke trucks for Blaschak's Coal Company. He owned and operated Savitski's Sons Coal Company with his Uncle David and Uncle Danny on the Centralia highway. He worked briefly for Fabcon in Frackville.

On September 5, 2005, in Kulpmont, he married the former Debra Simmons, who survives.

Charles was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. He was a member of the Atlas Legion, a former member of the Kulpmont Sportsmen's Club, and a member of the Clover Hose Fire Co., Mt. Carmel. He enjoyed shooting pool, playing darts, and playing shuffleboard.

Charles is survived by his wife, Debra Savitski of Kulpmont; his father, Charles (Lucy) Kaminsky of Kulpmont; sister, Lindsey Savitski of Mount Carmel; brother, Anthony "Trey" Savitski III of Sayre; children, Sue Ellen Lamb and her partner, Tonya of Adams, WI, and Shannon (Chris) Powers of Lewistown; two grandsons, Skyler and Hunter; grandmother, Nance Gorden of Cocoa, FL; two uncles, Jimmy Umlauf of Milton and David (Cindy) Savitski and their family of Mount Carmel; and two aunts, Giselle Savitski of Kulpmont and Deborah (Michael) Pattison of Shippensburg, as well as other aunts and uncles. He was raised by the late Anthony "Cookie" Savitski Jr. and his late mother, Marta. Charles was also preceded in death by two uncles, Danny Savitski and Ronald Savitski; and two aunts, Linda Savitski and Cindy Savitski.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. Burial will follow in the St. Casimir's Cemetery, Marion Heights. Visitation will be held in the Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
