Kulpmont – Beloved wife, mother and grandmother Christine H. (Shukitt) Covaleski, 79, passed away on December 2, 2024.

Christine was born in Shamokin on October 27, 1945, the daughter of Edward and Isabell (Woolbridge) Shukitt. She was a 1963 graduate of Mount Carmel High School, where she was a majorette.

On August 27, 1965, Christie married Anthony J. Covaleski, her husband of 59 years, in Our Mother of Consolation Church. She worked as the postmaster of Elysburg until her retirement.

In addition to her husband, Anthony J. Covaleski, Christine is survived by her two sons, Thomas Covaleski and his wife, Jennifer;  Alan Covaleski; and seven grandchildren, Alexander, Amanda, Leah, Mitchel, Sophia, Eli and Noah Covaleski.

She is also survived by a brother, John Shukitt; a sister, Marian Tentromono and her husband, John; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Katch and her husband, John; Anna Coffey; and three brothers-in-law, Stanley Covaleski, and his wife, Marie; Joseph Covaleski; and Fred Covaleski.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14th at noon with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the C J Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, PA. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the Funeral Home.
