Kulpmont - Clara Jamen, 100, formerly of 36 South Tenth Street, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Mountain View a Nursing & Rehab Center.

Born in Kulpmont on December 16, 1917, she was the daughter of the late John and Stephanie (Robaczewski) Gekosky. She was educated in St. Casimir's and Wilson Grade Schools.

She was a lifelong resident of Kulpmont, having spent some years in New York and New Jersey.  She was employed as a waitress and hostess in various restaurants.

On June 30, 1982 in St. Casimir's Church she was married by the late Msgr. Matthias Sidlecki to the late Joseph Jamen who preceded her in death on April 4, 2001.

She was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, a member of the former St. Casimir's Church, Senior Action Center and Holy Rosary Group.

Survivors include one brother, Thomas Gee of Easton, MD; one brother-in-law Robert Burch of Springfield, VA; as well as many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by eight sisters, Mary Pitcavage, Anne Hrock, Theresa Condron, Ida Alexander, Cecelia Duke, Alberta Kahn, Angie Schaller and Irene Burch and a brother, Edward Gekosky.

Clara Jamen, 100, formerly of 36 South Tenth Street, Kulpmont - Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott Street, Kulpmont with Father Andrew Stahmer, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Marion Heights.  Viewing will be held Friday morning from 10:00 until the time of mass in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott Street, Kulpmont.
