Mount Carmel - David A. Hughes, 67, of 200 West Fourth Street, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Princeton, Kentucky on October 22, 1950, he was the son of Cecil Kent and Florence (Suchoski) Hughes of Kulpmont.

David served honorably in the US Army earning various medals for his service.

On February 26, 1972 in Mount Carmel he married his high school sweetheart the late Eileen J. Pryzie, who preceded him in death on November 30, 2015.

He was employed as a steel worker for ACF Industries in Milton and attended Church of Our Lady.

Survivors include one son, David Hughes and his fiancé Danielle of Mount Carmel; two daughters, Pamela with whom he resided and Karen Iwanski of Coal Township; nine grandchildren and one great grandson, Cayden; one sister Rochelle Bereski and her husband Ed of Wyomissing; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Fetterman and her husband Art of Mount Carmel; a brother-in-law, Edward Pryzie and his wife Pam of Mechanicsburg as well as nieces and nephews.

Hughes of 200 West Fourth Street, Mount Carmel - Funeral Mass will be held for both David & Eileen on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 11:00 am in Church of Our Lady, 47 South Market Street, Mount Carmel with Father Francis Karwacki, officiating.  Visitation for both David & Eileen will be held Monday morning from 9:00 - 10:45 with Vigil Prayers at 10:15 in the C.J.
