David Reiner, 71, of Kulpmont, passed away August 31, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born in Dornsife on June 3, 1952, the son of the late Ernest and Verna (Stepp) Reiner.

David was a graduate of Line Mountain High School, class of 1970, and he served in the National Guard. He was employed as a farmer at Masser's in Pitman for 24 years and then transitioned to his career as a Correctional Officer at SCI Frackville for 20 years. After retirement, David returned to farmwork because he enjoyed being active and outside in nature.

In 1996, he married the former Joan Matukaitis in Las Vegas, NV. Throughout their marriage, they spent many years traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren.

David was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, shooting, and fishing, although he spent much of the time chasing after the one that got away. He mostly enjoyed the camaraderie with his brothers, sons, friends, and co-workers.

David is survived by his wife, Joan Reiner of Kulpmont; two sons, David Reiner and wife Jessica and Chad Reiner and wife Stephanie; three stepdaughters, Christy Bridges and husband Adam, Jill McCabe and husband James, and Leane Scoz and husband Edward; 9 grandchildren, Aidan, Parker, Colby, Madeline, Molly, Wyatt, Sophia, Willow, and Scarlett; two brothers, Glenn Reiner and Carl Reiner; and two sisters, Donna Snyder and Christie Klinger. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Paisley.

Funeral Service will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in care of C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, PA.
