Kulpmont - David J. Swatski Sr., 73, of 1015 Chestnut Street, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in his residence.

Born in Shamokin on November 1, 1944, he was the son of the late Albert and Blanche (Glodak) Swatski. David was educated in St. Casimir's Grade School and a graduate of Kulpmont High School.

He was employed as a pipe fitter with Union Local 520, Harrisburg.

He attended the Church of the Holy Angels in Kulpmont and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, life member of the American Legion, VFW, and East End Fire Company, all of Kulpmont as well as a life member of the Marion Heights Fire Company, he also belonged to the Jan Sobieski Club of Kulpmont and was an officer of the Kulpmont Sportsman Club for over twenty years and a member of the West End Fire Company in Kulpmont. He served as vice chairman for the Kulpmont-Marion Heights Sewer Authority.

Survivors include two sisters, Joan Long of Shamokin and Frances Forney of Rochester, NY; a brother, Joseph Swatski of Lancaster; four children, David Swatski, Anthony Swatski and his wife Sirami of Atlanta, GA; Jeanne Fortune and her husband Rich of Coal Township and Gwendolen Drahnak and her husband Robert of Pittsburgh and eight grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Swatski.

David J. Swatski, 73, of 1015 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont - Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11:00 am in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc, 1053 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont with Father Andrew Stahmer, officiating.  Burial will follow at 1:00 pm in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.  Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 10:00 until the time of the service in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 1053 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont, C.J. Lucas, Supervisor.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott Street, Kulpmont, C.J.
