Trevorton – Dennis Curran, 75, entered Heaven on December 25, 2022 at 4 a.m. after a brief illness.

He was born in Shamokin Hospital on January 15, 1947, the son of John J. and Dorothy (Homanick) Curran. He was raised in Wilburton and also lived in Mount Carmel and Darby, PA. During the 80's he returned to live in the Trevorton area.

Dennis was a graduate of Saint James High School in Chester. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines. Dennis was employed as a mail carrier for USPS in Springfield, PA and later worked as a co-owner of Classy Chassis in Paxinos.

Dennis was a devoted member of Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, Shamokin. For the past couple years Dennis and his best friend, Mary Ann "Pokey" were the contributing benefactors to the Nativity set displayed outside of Transfiguration Church. He was a strong believer in the Ukrainian faith and heritage and a defender of the pro-life movement. In his younger years, Dennis enjoyed riding motor cycles, driving his corvette, and playing baseball for various leagues. Later in life he and Mary Ann enjoyed riding bicycles at State Parks and PA bicycle trails. Dennis was also involved in restoring the classic full-service gas station located in Excelsior on Rt. 901. He was a past Commander of the Trevorton VFW and a member of the Black Diamond Marine Corp Detachment League.

Dennis is survived by a sister, Janet Steele and husband, Ralph of Elysburg; best friend, Mary Ann "Pokey" of Excelsior; a son of West Grove, PA; a nephew, Sasha Steele of Irving, TX; five grandchildren; a cousin and business partner, Joe Curran of Elysburg; as well as many cousins on both sides of the family. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Curran, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Divine Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 11 a.m. with Very Reverend John Seniw as celebrant and Father Mark Fesniak as concelebrant in Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, Shamokin. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the Liturgy in Transfiguration Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, 303 N Shamokin St, Shamokin, PA 17872. Arrangements are in care of C. J.
