Mount Carmel - Diane D. Smith, 71, of 108 East 7th Street, passed away in her residence on July 11, 2017.

Born in Fountain Springs on April 25, 1946, she was the daughter of Robert L. and Eva (Bovidge) Metzinger. Diane worked for many years in manufactured housing, at Pine Grove Homes, where she retired in 2008.

Diane was married in Mount Carmel to James C. Smith. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1964.

Diane was a life member at Clover hose Ladies Auxiliary in Mount Carmel. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy A. Twigg and her partner Brain McGraw of NY; two grandsons, Justin Slotterback and his wife Chelsea of Mount Carmel and Joseph Serovich of NY; two great grandchildren, Justin (JJ) Slotterback Jr. and Khloe Marie Slotterback; a sister, Carol Joraskie and her partner Andy Sincavage of Elysburg; three nieces and nephews, Thomas McSurdy and his wife Dawn of DE, Michael McSurdy of Sunbury and Michele Krupa of Mount Carmel; and three great nieces and nephews, Chris Yucha of Mount Carmel, Shannon McSurdy of DE, and Michael McSurdy of Elysburg. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert (Yocky) Metzinger and a sister, Bonnie Krupa.

Diane D. Smith, 71, of 108 East 7th Street, Mount Carmel - Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Church of Our Lady, 47 North Market Street, Mount Carmel with Father Francis Karwacki officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fountain Springs Road, Ashland. following the service. Arrangements are being cared for by C. J.
