Mount Carmel – Donna Marie Sawicki, 73, of 408 West 4 ^th St., passed away on November 9, 2022 at her residence.

She was born in Ashland State Hospital on June 4, 1949, the daughter of Daniel and Carrie M. (Pupo) Sawicki.

Donna Marie was a life-long resident of Mount Carmel. She was a 1967 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School.

Donna Marie was a devout Catholic and member of Divine Redeemer Church. She struggled with many challenges throughout her life, but found comfort and support in her faith. She loved to do crossword puzzles and enjoyed sewing. She was a member of the Community Services Group Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program, where she attended. Donna Marie's family would like to thank the staff at Rehab for their constant love, care, and support.

Donna Marie is survived by three aunts, Elizabeth Hornberger, Jane Pupo, and Marlyn Pupo; several cousins, Frank Sawicki, Christine Coakley, Lucy Kaminsky, Kathy Boylan, Nick Mattucci, Gina Jankowski, Joseph Mattucci, James Cioffi, Judy Chesney Davis, Steve Chesney, Frank Chesney, Jeff Chesney, Gary Chesney, Rick Dunn, David Dunn, Jennie Symonds, Nick Pupo, Felicia McAndrew, and Jessica Pupo; as well as many second cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, several aunts and uncles, and a cousin, Cammy Cioffi.

All are welcome to a Funeral Mass on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Jonathan P. Sawicki as celebrant and Father Bernard Wamayose, A. J. as concelebrant in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 W. Ave., Mt. Carmel. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Divine Redeemer Church at 438 West Ave., Mt. Carmel, PA 17851 or Community Services Group, 548C North Market St., Shamokin, PA 17872.
