Marion Heights - Doris M. Machuzak, 71, of 138 Melrose Street, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Watsontown Health & Rehab Center.

Born in Mount Carmel on December 26, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Antoinette (Rubacheski) Howells.  She was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School and a lifelong resident of the area.

She was employed as a nurses aide at Mount Carmel Senior Living Center.

On January 1, 1966 in Marion Heights, she married Joseph S. Machuzak Sr., who survives.

Doris was a member of the Patronage of Mother of God Church, Marion Heights.

In addition to her husband Joseph S. Machuzak Sr., of Mount Carmel she is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Tarapchek of Muncy and Jennifer Machuzak of Watsontown; a son, Joseph Machuzak Jr. of Scottsdale, AZ; three granddaughters, Corrine Machuzak, Fallon Tarapchek, and Ashton Tarapchek and one grandson, Alex Tarapcheck Jr.; four sisters, Marion Swetra and her husband John of Mount Carmel; Joanie Stuart of Harrisburg; Donna Griffets and her husband Robert of Ashland and Irene Klemick and her husband Joseph of FL; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Rakus and a brother-in-law, Claire Stuart.

Machuzak, 71, of 138 Melrose Street, Marion Heights - Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Patronage of Mother of God Church, 155 Melrose Street, Marion Heights with Reverend Mykola Ivanov, officiating.  Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp.  Viewing will be held Saturday morning from 8:30-9:45 with a Panahyda Service at 9:15 in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, Supervisor.
