Mount Carmel – Dorothy H. (Potochney) Pensyl, 79, of 184 Greco Lane, passed away February 8, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born in Mount Carmel on April 2, 1943, the daughter of the late Peter and Agnes (Kovalick) Potochney.

Dorothy was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School. She was employed as a coordinator at the Washington Hebrew Congregation (Temple and School). In 2014 she moved back to the Mount Carmel area from Maryland.

On June 20, 1964, in SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mount Carmel she married Jack W. Pensyl.

Dorothy was a member of SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, coin collecting, playing games and card games, working on her home, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by a son, Dan Pensyl; daughter, Donna Goldberg and husband, Ross; two grandsons, Quinn Goldberg and Jake Pensyl; a granddaughter, Megan Goldberg; a sister, Marie Bosevich; as well and three nephews and two nieces. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband.

Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Very Reverend Archpriest Michael Hutsko as celebrant in SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mt. Carmel. Burial will follow in SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Mount Carmel Twp. Viewing will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2023 from 8:45 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. with Panakhyda at 10:00 a.m. in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C. J. Lucas IV, Supervisor.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 131 N. Beech Street, Mt. Carmel.
