Mount Carmel - Edith Mae "Fergus" Williams, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 15. 2017,at Mount Carmel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Watertown, NY on August 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Edith Fergus. Edith was a resident of Kulpmont all of her adult life.

Edith graduated from New Hanover High School and James Walker School of Nursing in Wilminton, NC.  She was a registered nurse and worked at the Geisinger Medical Center for several years.

On July 11, 1952 in Florence, South Carolina, she married Robert Lemuel Williams.

She was an active member of the Kulpmont United Methodist Church for 64 years.

Edith loved going to flea markets with Bob, doing word puzzles and sitting on her porch talking with everyone who passed by.

Edith is survived by four boys, Robert L. Williams, Jr. and wife Marsha of SC, David Williams and his wife Patty of Bethlehem, Brian Williams and his wife Karen of Coal Township and Kenny Williams and his wife Laurie of FL; on daughter Dorothy Vanaskie of Jessup; three sisters-in-law, Olive Guarna and her husband Vincent of CA, Barbara Wolfe and her husband Ronald of Port Trevorton, Judith Sohomuch and her husband Michael of Harrisburg; one brother-in-law, Eugene Boylan of Shamokin Dam; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Edith was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Diane Williams; and infant grandson, Robert Williams; a sister, Lilian Fergus; a brother-in-law, George Williams and his wife Jane; and a sister-in-law, Lois Boylan.  She will be deeply missed.

FUNERAL NOTICE
Edith Mae "Fergus" Williams, 86, Mount Carmel - Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 11:00 am in United Methodist Church, 3 Spruce Street, Kulpmont with Reverend Joanne Young, officiating.  Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury.  Viewing will be held prior to the service at the United Methodist Church from 9:30 - 11:00 am. Arrangements are being cared for by C. J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 1053 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont, C. J.
