Sunbury – Edward J. Jatko Jr., 60, of 2526 Hallowing Run Rd., passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born in Shamokin on January 27, 1961, the son of the late Edward J. Jatko Sr. and Cecilia (Dubits) Jatko.

Edward was a 1979 graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.

On May 5, 1990 in St. John the Baptist Church, Mt. Carmel he married Pamela Mengle, who survives.

Edward was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, the VFW, the American Legion, Trevorton, Knights of Columbus, Berwick and a life member of the Clover Hose Co., Mt. Carmel.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking mushrooms, and making and sharing his wine with everyone. Edward will be remembered for being the life of the party, always telling good stories and jokes. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family and his two precious twin grandsons.

In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by a son, Edward J. Jatko III of Sunbury; daughter, Marrisa Jatko of Sunbury; two twin grandsons, Mason Jatko and Karson Jatko; two sisters, Kathy Lutz and husband, Freddie of Berwick and Cheryl Meholick and husband, Randy of New Cumberland; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and two fur buddies, Cookie and Molly. He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Guy Mengle and Myrtle (Swinehart).

Edward J. Jatko Jr., 60, of 2526 Hallowing Run Rd., Sunbury – Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021 in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 331 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, PA with Friar Michael Lasky officiating. Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, 2956 PA-61, Sunbury, PA 17801. Viewing will be held prior to the service from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine Street, Mt. Carmel, C. J. Lucas IV, Supervisor.
