Mount Carmel - Edward Joseph "Cookie" Ososkie, 85, of 520 West Seventh Street, died suddenly at home Thursday, April 26, 2018.

Born in Ashland on April 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Pranckaitis) Ososkie. He attended Holy Cross grade school and was a 1951 graduate of Mount Carmel High School.

He was employed as a police office for Mount Carmel Borough and served in the US Navy for four years.

He was a former member of Holy Cross Church and currently attended Church of Our Lady.  He was a member of the Eagles, American Hose Company and Atlas Legion. He was an avid New York Yankees, Notre Dame and New York Giants fan.  He will also be missed by his three buddies, Bronx, Bomber and Stella.

Survivors include his former wife, Jean Ososkie; two sons, Edward M. Ososkie and Scott E. Ososkie, both of Mount Carmel; two daughters, Kelly Agnello and her husband Joseph of Stroudsburg and Patricia Rovito and her husband Michael of Catawissa; six grandsons, Ed Ososkie and his wife Dana of Trevorton; Mark Ososkie of Mount Carmel; Shane Osokie and his fiancé Nicole of Philadelphia; Brett Ososkie of Mount Carmel; Joseph Agnello of Stroudsburg and Michael Rovito and his wife Kathy of Florida; four granddaughters, Tara Wise and her husband Tom of Catawissa; Kerri Spears and her husband Gary of Mount Carmel; Molly Agnello of Stroudsburg and Hannah Chapman of Mount Carmel; four great grandsons, Carson Ososkie, Cole Spears, Ty Spears and Blake Wise; three great granddaughters, Harper Ososkie, Mya Wise and Aria Rovito as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Edward Joseph "Cookie" Ososkie, 85, of 520 West Seventh Street, Mount Carmel - Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11:00 am in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel with Reverend Joan Brown, officiating.  Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 9:00 until the time of service in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C.J.
