Mount Carmel – Edward Semborski Sr., 93, of 213 E. Columbia Avenue Atlas, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2022 at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. He was born in Mount Carmel on December 15, 1928, the son of John and Tillie Semborski. Ed was a 1947 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War beginning in 1951 and earned Korean and UN Service Medals with an honorable discharge in 1953. He worked at numerous jobs throughout his life…General Motors (New Jersey), Mack Truck (Allentown), Mother of Consolation Church and Holy Spirit School (Mt. Carmel), and Mt. Carmel Township (Atlas)…to support the family that he loved. He finally retired at the age of 85 while working at the Mount Carmel Library.

Ed married the love of his life and his 'best buddy' Anna Dallago on January 14, 1956, and they shared an inseparable 66+ years of marriage together. He was very proud of his two sons, Edward (Jr.) and Joseph and provided a lifetime of support for them. He loved his four grandchildren Michael, Jonathan, Sara, and Eric and always looked forward to spending time with them during family visits and on holidays and special occasions.

Ed was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, the Atlas Fire Company and VFW in Mt. Carmel as well as other local clubs in the area. He also was a volunteer fireman and along with others bravely helped fight the fire of his own home in Atlas in January 1971. He loved sports and was an avid Phillies fan and very loyal and devoted supporter of Mount Carmel Area Red Tornado football. Some of his pastimes and things he enjoyed doing were fishing, gardening, carpentry, maintaining the nice green grass in his yard, and of course drinking his beer. He also enjoyed sharing with others. He was a true Coal Region guy, loved by many, and will be greatly missed.

Edward is survived by his wife, Anna Semborski of Atlas; two sons, Joseph Semborski and wife, Stacy of Bloomsburg, and Edward Semborski Jr. and wife, Diane of Harrisburg; three grandsons, Michael Semborski of Hummelstown (PA), Jonathan Semborski of Mechanicsburg (PA), and Eric Semborski and wife, Kaitlyn of Abington (PA); a granddaughter, Sara Foltz-Semborski and husband, Aaron of Jacksonville (FL); a great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Semborski of Abington (PA), as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Helen (Tloczynski) Dallago; brother, Stanley Semborski; sister, Lillian Kratovich; brother-in-law, Louis Dallago; and seven step-brothers-in-law.

Carmel – Funeral service will be held Friday, April 8, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Father Ryan Fischer officiating in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Ave., Mt. Carmel. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Viewing will be held prior to the Mass from 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mt. Carmel, C. J.
