Mount Carmel – Edward R. Tanney, 83, of 449 W. 2 ^nd Street, passed away January 5, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Ashland on October 11, 1938, he was the son of James and Clara (Beltz) Tanney.

Edward was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School. He worked as a laborer at Zenith Window Company in Watsontown and later retired from Regency Windows.

On October 24, 1965 he married Catherine Sabo in Centralia.

He was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, formerly St. Peter's Church.

Edward is survived by a son, Edward J. Tanney of Locust Gap; four daughters, Patricia Pupo and husband, Reno of Mount Carmel, Wendy Kotzo and husband, Michael of Mount Carmel, Lisa Blessing of Kulpmont, and Debra Murray and husband, John of Kulpmont; three granddaughters, Danielle Lawler Olson and husband, Dakota, Kamryn Kotzo, and Shannon Tanney; eleven grandsons, Chordero Tanney, Lane Tanney, Ty Tanney, Michael Pupo, Brandon Pupo, Dylan Pupo, Gavin Kotzo, Dustin Blessing, Luke Blessing, Josh Blessing, Sean Murray and wife, Layce; a great-granddaughter, Ariel Tanney; a great-grandson, Axel Olson; two brothers, Ronald Tanney and wife, Katherine of Mount Carmel and William Tanney and wife, Cheryl of Mount Carmel; five sisters-in-law, Stella Marie Starkoski of Camp Hill, Theresa Mock of Ashland, MaryAnn Krupilus and husband, Frank of Brandonville, Pauline Billus and husband, Joseph of Ashland, and Irene Zaharick and husband, Joseph of Mount Carmel; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Tanney; parents, James and Clara Tanney; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Stella Sabo; grandson, Mason Kotzo; two brothers-in-law, Daniel Mock and Thomas Starkoski; an uncle, Edward Tanney; and an aunt, Helen Lesko.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Edward R. Tanney, 83, of 449 W. 2 ^nd Street, Mount Carmel – Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Father Frank Karwacki officiating in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Ave., Mt. Carmel. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. with Transferal Prayers at 10 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N.
