Mount Carmel - Edward G. Teevan, 67, of 24 West. Ave., passed away on August 6, 2021 at his residence.

Born in Queens, NY on January 15, 1954, the son of Edward R. and Catherine M. (Simunek) Teevan, he grew up in Montville, CT and raised a family in Westerly, RI.

On November 3, 2012, at SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Mount Carmel, he married the love of his life, Michele Connolly.

Edward worked as a scientist for Pfizer for many years and as an EMS Training Coordinator for the State of RI. He had a lifetime of public service. He was the former Commander of the Westerly Ambulance Corp. and the former President of the Ashaway Ambulance Company, both of RI. He shaped the careers of countless EMS providers. He was a volunteer with the RI team of the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) and responded to hurricanes, disasters, and public health emergencies across the country. He proudly responded to the World Trade Center in NY on 9/11. Edward went on to work full time for NDMS in Washington, DC before moving to the CDC as a Public Health Advisor.

He was an active member of SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and served on the Pastoral Council for the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, Council 628 and Assembly 959 in Mount Carmel. There he served as the Past Grand Knight, current Faithful Navigator, and current District 54 Deputy of PA. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge 356 and was a social member of the Anthracite Steam Fire Co. No. 1 and the Kulpmont Sportsmen's Club.

Edward was a lifetime NY Yankees fan. He will be most remembered for his intelligence, quick wit, humor, compassion, and willingness to help everyone. His love for his family, particularly his six grandchildren, was beyond measure. He was loved and adored and will be sorely missed.

Edward is survived by his wife, Michele Teevan; son, James Teevan of RI; daughter, Michelle Pont and husband, Jon of RI; and three grandsons, Lyric Teevan, Robert Pont and Christopher Pont; two granddaughters, Olivia Dumaine and Baillie Teevan; two sisters, Diane Levine and husband, Michael of NC, and Karen Buck and companion, William Stanley of CT; two brothers-in-law, Gilbert Lamphere and Steve Marshalick and wife, Anna; his special aunt, Nancy Marshalick; loving pups Echo and Lola; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, William J. and Jean (Marshalick) Connolly; and grandson, William Arthur Pont.

Carmel, - Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on August 17, 2021 in SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 131 North Beech Street, Mount Carmel with Very Reverend Archpriest Michael Hutsko, officiating. Burial will follow in SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Mount Carmel Twp. Visitation will be held in SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Divine Liturgy. Arrangements are in care of C.J.
