Mount Carmel - Edwin D. Ososkie Sr., 64, of 320 West Cherry Street, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, October 5, 2017.

Born January 11, 1953, the second of seven children, he was the son of the late Edwin J. and Adele D. (Duchon) Ososkie. Ed graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School in 1972, where he excelled at wrestling.

He worked at Milco Co. in Bloomsburg and then at Cardinal Container Corporation (International Paper) for many years as a maintenance and equipment mechanic.

On August 25, 1979, Ed married his high school sweetheart, Nancy (Tloczynski) in St. Paul's Chapel in Atlas.  They celebrated their 38th anniversary this year.

Ed was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

In his younger days, he was a volunteer coach for youth football and school functions. Before suffering multiple disabilities, Ed enjoyed the outdoors, motorcycles, working on cars and basically trying to fix anything that was broken.  Most of all, he enjoyed helping others and spending time with his children, family and friends.  Ed was very proud of his sons and cherished his grandsons.  Sometimes, Ed exhibited a tough outward appearance, but he truly had a heart of gold.  He will be missed so much by all who knew the genuine person he was.

In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by two sons, Gunnery Sergeant Edwin D. Ososkie, Jr. (daughter-in-law Jill), North Carolina and Brian F. Ososkie, Florida; two grandsons, Colin and Robert (RJ), North Carolina; four brothers, Richard (Susan), Bellefonte; Ronald (Christine), Elysburg; Barry (Joanne), California; Kevin (Connie), Virginia; two sisters, Donna (Carl) Mowery, Catawissa; Denise (Albert) Gricoski, Frackville; aunt, Blanche Duchon, Danville; nieces and nephews who were near and dear to his heart - his godchild Samantha, his godchild Keith, Stacy, Courtney, Jake, Crystal, Andrew, Philip, Charlie, Skyler, Timothy, Jessica, Eric and Adele; great-nieces and great-nephews and numerous cousins; his mother-in-law, Adeline S. Tloczynski and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Robert Wesloskie.

Edwin D. Ososkie, Sr., 64, of 320 West Cherry Street, Mount Carmel - Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel with Reverend Martin O. Moran III, officiating.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  Viewing will be held Saturday, October 14 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc. 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C.J.
