Kulpmont – Eleanor Witt, 83, formerly of 1230 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, at Mountain View Manor Nursing and Rehab Center, Coal Township.

She was born in Kulpmont on June 17, 1940, the daughter of Anthony and Concetta Procopio.

Eleanor was a graduate of Mount Carmel Catholic High School. She worked as a floor girl at the Shamokin Shoe Factory.

On April 15, 1959, she married Norman Witt Jr. in St. Mary's Church, Kulpmont.

Eleanor was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels. She had a big heart for her children and grandchildren and took care of her family in their time of need. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed the holidays to which she added her Italian touch, especially with her wedding soup.

Eleanor is survived by a daughter, Marie Shultz of Coal Twp.; a son, Norman Witt III and wife, Lee Ann of Kulpmont; a son-in-law, Leon Broskey of Coal Twp.; five granddaughters, Jocelyn Hauer and husband, Timothy of MD, Danielle Schrom and husband, Jake of Carlisle, Erin Pfautz and husband, Ryan of Lancaster, Kayla Witt of Kulpmont, and Mackenzie Witt of Kulpmont; two grandsons, Nathan Broskey of FL and Mark Broskey of MD; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Gloria Pupo of Kulpmont; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Witt Jr.; a daughter, Diane Broskey; two brothers, Anthony Procopio and Russell Procopio; and a brother-in-law, Frank Pupo.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. The viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass in the Church. Arrangements are in the care of C. J.
