MOUNT CARMEL – Elizabeth M. "Liz" Veach, 93, of Mount Carmel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of 5 Lamplight Acres, Kulpmont, passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020.

She was born in Mount Carmel, Dec. 21, 1927, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Mirarchi) Procopio, of Mount Carmel.

She was graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1945.

She went on to become a seamstress and work in the local garment industry at Mount Carmel Fashions and Len-Jef Factory before retiring in June 1989.

On July 27, 1957, in St. Peter's Church, Mount Carmel, she was married to her soul mate, the late Joseph John Veach. They were married for 45 years prior to his death Feb. 19, 2002.

She was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, Mount Carmel, and the former St. Peter's Church. Additionally, she was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union and the church Altar-Rosary Society.

In addition to spending time with her children and their spouses, she enjoyed cooking, and watching soap operas and her favorite sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond." The center of her life were her children, JoAnn and Carl.

Surviving are two children, a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Walter Kozlowski, of Den-Mar Gardens, Kulpmont; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl J. and Chris A. Veach, of Vista Terrace, Elysburg; a sister, Ramona and brother-in-law, the late Russell Barella, of Mount Carmel; a brother, Dennis, and sister-in-law, Sally Procopio, of Coopersburg; a sister-in-law, Dolores Procopio, of Sinking Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew B. Procopio, of Aldan, Lavier "Sam" Procopio, of Sinking Springs, and an infant brother, Ralph; a sister, Sister Mary Rene Procopio, of Coraopolis; a sister-in-law, Madeline Procopio, of Aldan; and a brother-in-law, Robert Veach, of Mount Carmel.

Elizabeth M. "Liz" Veach, 93, of Mount Carmel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mount Carmel . A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Divine Redeemer Church, 438 West Ave., Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Ryan Fischer, as celebrant. Burial will be held following the service in St. Peter's Cemetery. Viewing will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being cared for by C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, 27 N.
