Paxinos – Ellen Jane "E.J." Knerr, 78, of 1307 Mountain Rd., passed away on September 24, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

She was born at the Shamokin Area Hospital on March 27, 1945, the daughter of the late George and Ellen (Augustine) Laughlin

On February 19, 1966, she married Albert R. Knerr at St. Edwards Church, officiated by Reverend George Lavelle. Together Ellen and Albert shared 57 years of marriage.

Ellen worked for 15 years as a realtor with Bressi and Martin Real Estate.

After leaving real estate, she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Ellen is survived by her husband Albert; two sons, Albert Jr and Nicole Lady of Gettysburg, and James of Clarksburg; A daughter, Michele Stellar and husband Bernard of Kulpmont; three grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Stellar, and Madison Knerr; a brother, James Laughlin and wife Nancy of Alexandria, Virginia; as well as nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and a sister, Patricia Laughlin.

Viewing will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., with a Rosary Service at 8 p.m., and Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 10 a.m. - 12:40 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, C. J. Lucas IV, supervisor. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 1p.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Elysburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Patriot K9 Rescue, 1034 RT 487 Elysburg, PA 17824, and the Autism Society, 6110 Executive Boulevard Suite 305 Rockville, Maryland 20852.
