Shamokin – Emily C. (Delbo) Homanick, 79, of 1113 N. Vine St., passed away on September 30, 2022 at Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

She was born in Kulpmont on September 18, 1943, the daughter of Emory and Sophie (Romich) Delbo.

Emily attended Mount Carmel Schools and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was employed as a local school bus driver and last employed as a bartender at the Sons of Poland in Mt. Carmel. She was married to Edward Homanick who passed away on October 28, 1996.

Emily was a member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Mount Carmel Eagles. She enjoyed camping, trips to the beach, and going to the casino. She loved all her grandchildren, especially her great-grandchildren.

Emily is survived by her beloved children; a daughter, Sandra Berge of Shamokin; son, Jamie Kleman and wife, Wendy of Coal Twp.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two brothers, Emory Delbo Jr. and wife, Martha of Reading area and James Delbo and wife, Dwana of Ashland; a sister, Leona Sweeney of Shoemakersville; and two step-sons, Edward Homanick of Trevorton and Gary Homanick and wife, Karen of Nazereth. In addition to her parents and husband, Emily was preceded in death by a son, William Kleman; a daughter, Kelly Wondoloski; two brothers, Emory Delbo (infant) and Paul Delbo Sr.; and a sister, Theresa (Delbo) Rockwell.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Very Reverend Archpriest Michael Hutsko officiating in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mt. Carmel, C. J. Lucas IV, Supervisor. Burial will follow in SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 6 – 8 p.m. and Friday, October 7, 2022 from 9 a.m. until the time of the service in the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to C.
