Esther M. Fegley

Mount Carmel – Esther M. (Kornaski) Fegley, 90, of 14 S. Market Street, passed away on September 9, 2026, at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

She was born in Mount Carmel on September 2, 1936, the daughter of the late Enoch and Clara (Saduski) Kornaski.

Esther was a lifelong resident of Mount Carmel. She attended St. Joseph’s Grade School and was a 1953 graduate of Mount Carmel Joint High School. She worked as a waitress at Flower’s Restaurant for 28 years, at the Mount Carmel Elks for 13 years, and at Beachcombers for two years. Esther also worked at Knoebel’s gift shops.

On November 23, 1957, she married the late Gerald C. Fegley in Virginia. He preceded her in death in 2024.

Esther was a member of the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She served as a CCD teacher for more than 20 years at Divine Redeemer Church and the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She was also a member of the Polish Cultural Club, Ramblers Club, Mount Carmel Senior Action Center, and the Mount Carmel Moose, where she served as Senior Regent.

Esther volunteered at Holy Spirit School, Transfiguration School, and Our Lady of Lourdes. She delivered Meals on Wheels for 20 years and received an award in recognition of her service. She was a Polka dance teacher and served as a den mother for the Scouts.

Esther is survived by four sons, Michael (Ruth) Fegley, Alan Fegley, David (Beth) Fegley, and Edward (Beth) Fegley; a daughter, Bonita (Dan) Gudleski; ten grandchildren, Harrison, Amanda, Rheann, David, Janine, Edward, Mary, Brad, Tucker, and Ainsley; and nine great-grandchildren, Amelia, Max, Jazlyn, Piper, Mara, Elliot, Norah Jane, Jillian, and Colter; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Esther was preceded in death by a sister, Clair (Henry) Niemiec.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 11 a.m. with Msgr. Francis Karwacki officiating in the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Viewing will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., with a rosary at 8 p.m., and Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 9 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. in the C J Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N.
