Evelyn J. (Carte) Rick, 81, of Wilburton, passed away on January 14, 2023, at her residence with family by her side.

She was born in Dille, WV on January 29, 1941, the daughter of the late Ira Omer and Gatha Marie (Frame) Carte.

Evelyn graduated from high school in Summersville, WV in 1958. She met her husband, George Rick in Columbus, OH in 1959, while he was serving in the United States Air Force at Lockbourne Air Force Base. On July 1, 1960, they married in Columbus, OH. As an Air Force family, they lived in Ramstein-Miesenbach, Germany, Birch River, WV while her husband served in Vietnam, Pease Air Force Base in NH, and Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapid City, South Dakota, where two of her children were born. Her husband George was from the Kulpmont area where they later moved back to and resided for 42 years.

Evelyn was a member of Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont.

Evelyn is survived by her son, David Paul Rick; three daughters, Felicia Rick, Jennifer Rick, and Annie Pellegrino;  and a sister, Brenda May Carte-Barns. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

All are welcome to attend a Funeral Mass held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 11 a.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer as celebrant in the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. Burial will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Marion Heights. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are in care of C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont.
