Mount Carmel - Our loving mother, Evelyn R. Riedel,  went home to be with Jesus, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community, surrounded by her family.

Born in Kulpmont on November 22, 1924she was the daughter of the late Norman and Emma Hubler. She was a 1943 graduate of Kulpmont High School.

She was a member of the Mount Carmel Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was also a faithful member of the Frieden's United Church of Christ in Hegins.

On February 12, 1944 in St. John's Reformed Church, Shamokin, she married the late Alfred B. Riedel, who preceded her in death on December 13, 998.

Evelyn is the mother of Cheryl Mazeikas of Elysburg, Al Riedel and his fiancé Susan Shay of Kulpmont, Rebecca Zibolski and her husband Tony and David Riedel of Middletown .  She is also the grandmother of Lori Mazeikas, Amanda Richard, Christian Otto, Seth Otto, Tracey Maurer, Tony Zibolski, Brian Riedel, Johanna Riedel, Sarah Cervantes, Catelin Riedel and Jordan Riedel, Evelyn also has several great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by  brothers, Charles Norman Hubler, Henry Hubler, Willard Hubler and her sister, Shirley Little.

Evelyn was devoted to her family. Her four children were blessed and honored to have her as their mother.

Evelyn Riedel, 94, formerly of 1100 Spruce Street, Kulpmont - Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 11:00 am  in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 1053 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont with Reverend Anthony (Tony) Zibolski, officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp.  Viewing will be held Wednesday morning from 10:00 until the time of service in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 1053 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont, C.J.
