Mount Carmel - Florence Marie Katch, 80, formerly of 136 South Chestnut Street, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

Born in Atlas on November 24, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Isabelle (Woolrich) Shukitt.

Florence was a 1954 graduate of Mount Carmel High School.

In January, 1955 in Elkton, MD, she married the late Raymond Shutt, she married for the second time on June 26, 1971 in Our Mother of Consolation Church, Mount Carmel to the late John Katch, who preceded her in death on May 27, 2015.

She was a homemaker and a member of the former Our Mother of Consolation Church, now a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Survivors include a son, James D. Shutt and his wife Shelly of Kulpmont; four grandchildren, Jason Shutt and his wife Susan of Allentown; Christine Siedel of Shamokin; Patricia Shutt of Allentown and Jared Shutt and his wife Michelle of Swathmore; three great grandchildren, Claudia and Eliana Siedel and Zavier Shutt; a brother, John Shukitt and his wife Angelina of El Paso, TX; two sisters, Marian Tetromono and her husband John of Wilmington, DE; and Christine Coveleski and her husband Anthony of Kulpmont. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and a sister Anna Coffey of Mount Carmel.
