Mount Carmel – Frank C. "Dabby" Niglio, 75,  passed away on February 20, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Kulpmont on August 20, 1949, Frank was the son of Paul and Helene (Sylko) Niglio. A lifelong resident of Kulpmont, he was a proud graduate of Mount Carmel High School, Class of 1967. He continued his education at Yankton College in South Dakota, where he graduated in 1971. A talented athlete, Frank played wide receiver for both his high school and college football teams.

Frank dedicated his professional life to education and coaching. He taught Physical Education and Health at North Schuylkill High School from 1971 until his retirement in 2006. Over the years, he inspired countless students as a coach, serving as the head coach for both the girls and boys track & field teams, head coach for girls volleyball and boys basketball and assistant coach for football. In addition to his time at North Schuylkill, he also coached football at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School and worked for the Mount Carmel Area School District.

In 1993, Frank married Denise Mirarchi.  A member of the former St. Mary's Church, now known as the Church of the Holy Angels, Frank was also a life member of the Knights of Columbus in Kulpmont (3rd Degree). He remained an active part of the local sports community, serving as the current president of the Ed Romance Hall of Fame.

Above all, Frank cherished his family. He is survived by his mother, Helene Niglio of Danville; his two daughters, Tara Michaels and her husband, David, of Lewisburg, and Cassandra Niglio and her fiancé, Jayson Stellar, of Mount Carmel; and his four grandchildren, Chloe, Cameron, Quintin, and Cortland Michaels of Lewisburg. He is also survived by his three brothers, Paul Niglio and his wife, Stephanie, of Kulpmont; Stanley Niglio of Kulpmont; and Bobby Joe Niglio and his wife, Trish, of Elysburg; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Paul Niglio, and his wife, Denise Niglio.

Frank will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his students and athletes, and his deep-rooted connections within the sports community. His impact will live on through the lives he touched and the memories he created.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 8 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. with transferal prayers at 10 a.m. in the C J Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont.
