Atlas - Frank Supatina, 78, known to many as "Subie," suddenly passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital East in Pottsville, doing what he loved, hunting.

Born in Hegins, Pennsylvania, on August 2, 1940, he was the son of Nicholas and Catherine (Starr) Supatina. Frank graduated from Mount Carmel high school and retired from General Motors in 1990.

On July 4, 1959, in Mount Carmel, he married his teenage sweetheart, Nancy Rodgers, who survives. Frank was a member of Grace United Church of Christ.

Subie was an avid sportsman; hunting, fishing, tinkering in garage, working on vehicles, & enjoying the company of friends & family, who he shared his love of trucks & woodworking.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Tammie Matulewicz and her husband Joseph of Kulpmont, Shelly Lushinski and her husband Vincent of Bear Gap, Heidi Toland-Alleman and her husband Nelson Alleman of Ashland, and Angel Casey and her husband Brian of Catawissa; two grandsons, Benjamin Toland and his wife Chelsea of Florida, and Dylan DiEmidio of Catawissa; two granddaughters, Amber Leshinski and her husband Russell of Elysburg, and Kristin Matzura and her husband Stephen of Harrisburg; two great-grandsons, Russell "Rusty" Leshinski, and Stephen Matzura; one great-granddaughter, Lexi Leshinski; two sisters, Rita Handerhan of Lewisburg, and Shirley Gillabauer of AL; one brother-in-law, Thomas Rodgers of Marion Heights, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents was he preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Ethel Rodgers; a son-in-law Jeff Karpinsky; and a grandson Jeffrey Karpinsky. He will be sadly missed by all the people he touched in his lifetime but loving memories will endure. His message would be live life to the fullest & tell those around you, they are loved & "be careful."

Frank Supatina, 78, of Atlas - Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at Grace United Church of Christ, 136 East 3rd Street, Mount Carmel, Reverend Joan Brown, officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held Monday, December 3, 2018 at Grace United Church of Christ, from 10:00 - 11:00 am.
