Kulpmont – George M. Malakoski, 79, of 105 N 6th Street, passed away on August 15, 2023, at his residence after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Shamokin on May 5, 1944, the son of the late Felix and Margaret (Sminkey) Malakoski.

George attended St. Edward's School in Shamokin. In 1971, he moved to Kulpmont and resided there ever since. George worked for the Kulpmont Borough Street Department, first as a laborer and eventually as a supervisor. He was also a former Kulpmont Borough Council Member.

On April 25, 1970, he married the former Patricia Belfonti. Together they shared 53 years of marriage.

George enjoyed woodworking, camping, watching Nascar races and football, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

George is survived by his wife, Patricia Malakoski; three daughters, Roxanne Zuber and husband, Ed, Jennifer Swartz and husband, Matt, and Georgiann Noll and husband, Eric; six grandchildren, Amanda, Justin, Matthew, Marissa, Rachel, and Eddie; three great-grandchildren, Bentley, Onyx, and Lainey; and a brother, Edward Malakoski and wife, Donna. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Felix and Dennis.

George M. Malakoski, 79, of 105 N 6th Street, Kulpmont – Viewing will be held Monday, August 21, 2023 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. with a Christian Wake Service at 7:30 p.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont. Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to help defray funeral expenses to C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc.
