Kulpmont – Helen Marie Winhofer, 83, formerly of 913 Scott St., passed away peacefully on February 16, 2023 at St. Mary's Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Cherry Hill, NJ, where she was a resident for three years.

She was born in Shamokin on January 15, 1940, the daughter of the late Joseph F. Winhofer, Sr. and Helen (Wascavage) Winhofer.

Helen was a 1957 graduate of Kulpmont High School. She was employed as a clerical supervisor at the Northumberland County Board of Assistance, where she retired in 1993 after 35 years of service.

She was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels where she participated in many activities. She greatly enjoyed playing bingo, taking bus trips to the casinos, planning reunions, sending and receiving cards, watching game shows, and spending time with her granddaughters. An avid basketball fan, Helen enjoyed attending Lourdes and Bucknell University games as a proud parent in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Green and husband, Robert of Cherry Hill, NJ; two granddaughters, Finley and Phoebe; a sister-in-law, Anita Winhofer of Kulpmont; a nephew, Joseph Winhofer and wife, Sandy of Kulpmont; a niece, Mary Beth Smith of Kulpmont; a great-niece, Megan Smith; a great-nephew, Matthew Smith; and countless friends who were her forever sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joseph F. Winhofer, Jr.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 1 p.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer as celebrant in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont. Visitation will be held at 11:30 a.m. with a Rosary starting at 12:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
