Mount Carmel - Irene LeComte, 84, of 144 West Third Street, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born in Mount Carmel on September 27, 1932 to the late John and Sophie (Harrison) Homanick.  Irene attended Mt. Carmel Schools and a member of SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church.

She was employed by Revlon retiring in 1986; prior to that she worked in the Mount Carmel Cigar Factory. She loved spending time with her family and loved the company of her dogs, Toro and Bruno. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino.

She was married in New Jersey to the late Louis LeComte who preceded her in death in 1998.

Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Currin and her husband John of Elysburg and Alga Pirllo of New Jersey; a sister-in-law, Emily Homanick of Mount Carmel; some stepchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her husband & parents she was preceded in death by ten siblings.

Irene LeComte, 84, of 144 West Third Street, Mount Carmel -A Chapel Service will be held Friday, August 18, 2017 at 1:00 pm as the Franklin Memorial Park, 1800 NJ-27, North Brunswick Township, NJ with her nephew Dennis Currin presiding; followed by a mausoleum interment.  C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, Supervisor is assisting the family with arrangements.
