Brandamore - Irene (Kasenych) Shemonski, 84, was called to the Lord peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Born in Centralia, PA, she graduated in 1957 from Con-Cen High School.  She worked at her sister's store in Centralia for many years, and a garment factory in Mt. Carmel, PA.

She married Stephen Shemonski on July 17, 1958, at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Centralia, PA.  They moved to Coatesville, PA shortly after and resided there for over 20 years.  She, her husband, and her family built their home in Brandamore, PA where she resided for 43 years.  She retired in 2003 from Allister/All Star Company.

Irene enjoyed playing pinochle, crocheting, polka and jitterbug dancing, making family videos and game shows.  She made homemade pierogies, halupkis, chocolate covered Easter eggs, and the best relish.  Most of all she enjoyed spending endless happy and humorous times with her family, especially the sleepovers with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Irene is a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church in Mt. Carmel, PA.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sarah (Masinick) Kasenych; her husband, Stephen Shemonski of 49 years; a son, Stephen Shemonski Jr.; and several siblings, Theodore Kasenych, Katherine Koschoff, Anna Hutnick, Mary Liptock, Charles Kasenych, Eleanor Horoschock, and John Kasenych.

She is survived by a sister, Julia Kriesher; a sister-in-law, Roseann Kasenych; her children, Mary Seip, Stephen Shemonski III, and Michael (Gloria) Shemonski; grandchildren, Christina Haines (Bill), Ron (Sharon) Haines, Matthew Shemonski, Elizabeth (Matthew) Lied, and Gabrielle (John) Woodbridge; and great-grandchildren, Verdon Taylor, Riley and Callie Lied, and Jacob Haines.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at  11 a.m. with Priest Aleksey Paranyuk officiating in St. Michael's Orthodox Church, Mt. Carmel. Burial will follow in Saints Peter & Paul Orthodox Cemetery, Centralia. A viewing will be held in the Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service.
