Irene Smelter, 83, of Harrisburg, formerly of Mt. Carmel, died on February 14, 2025, at River's Bend Nursing Home.

Surviving are three daughters, Irene Ward of Levittown, Linda Ligon of Harrisburg, and Jennifer Graham of Carthage, NC; and four grandsons, Nathan Ligon, Matthew Ward, Nicolas and Christopher Graham.

Also surviving is her sister, Joanne Ferrari of Atlas, and nieces and nephews in the surrounding area.

Irene was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Smelter.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Father Francis Karwacki officiating in the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 47 S. Market St. Mt. Carmel. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Viewing will be held in Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
