Mount Carmel - Isobel M. Kogut, 98, formerly of Strong passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community

Born in Mount Carmel on February 28, 1919,she was the daughter of the late John and Marie (Costa) Fiamoncini. She was a graduate of Mount Carmel Township High School.

On April 21, 1951 in St. Paul's Chapel, Atlas, she married the late Edward C. Kogut, who preceded her in death on May 19, 1978.

She was the postmaster at the Atlas Post Office and retired from Shamokin Post Office as a clerk.

Isobel was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, Mount Carmel, formerly a member of St. Paul's Chapel in Atlas, Altar Rosary Society, Polish Cultural Club and Tirolisi Alpini of Hazelton.

Isobel loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sewing, dancing and traveling. She was also very proud of her Tyrolean heritage.  As a child and throughout adulthood Isobel gave countless hours volunteering her time and skills to the upkeep of St. Paul's including cleaning, sewing, decorating and enhancing the beauty of her beloved Chapel.

Survivors include three daughters, Christine Fink and her husband Dale of Jersey Shore; Marie Hospodavis and her husband Patrick of Harrisburg and Edwina Reineberg and her husband William of York; seven grandchildren, Allen Fink and his wife Susanne of Monroeton, Laura German and her husband James of Jersey Shore, Molly Eisley and her husband Matthew of South Williamsport, Ryan Hospodavis of Harrisburg, Nicholas Hospodavis of Harrisburg, Andrew Reineberg of Colorado and Emily Palmieri and her husband Matthew of New Jersey; eight great grandchildren, Anna, Mary, Lucy and Thomas Fink, Gabriel German, Colleen, Joseph and Gwendolyn Eisley; a sister-in-law, Gladys Fiamoncini of Florida and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law & father-in-law Jozef and Agnes Kogut, and four brothers, Joseph D. Fiamoncini and his wife Lillian, Louis Fiamoncini and his wife Marian, John Fiamoncini and his wife Mary and Joseph A. Fiamoncini.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Isobel M. Kogut, 98, formerly of Strong - Funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 am in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Avenue, Mount Carmel with Father Martin O. Moran III, officiating.  Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg.  Viewing will be held Monday morning from 9:00 - 10:45 with transferal prayers at 10:15  in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, Supervisor.
